Edwards, a four-year member of the Men's Soccer team, was chosen in a vote by his peers to hold the leadership position for the upcoming season.

"He is someone that has always been held in high regard by both his teammates and coaching staff because of his hard work and dedication both on and off the field," Head Men's Soccer Coach James Greenslit said. "The team really felt confident and comfortable that he would be someone who would lead our team in the correct way."

Across his three seasons on the pitch for the Hawks, Edwards has played in all 60 games while making 25 starts. He has accumulated 16 points on three goals and ten assists in that span. His best offensive season came as a sophomore when he paced the Hawks and finished third in the Commonwealth Coast Conference by tallying seven assists. He has twice been named to the CCC Academic All-Conference Team.

"It is a huge honor," Edwards said on the podcast Hawk Talk. "Just to have that kind of respect from your teammates and coaches. It means a lot. They have a lot of trust in me to lead them into this upcoming season."

"After last season finished this past fall, Connor immediately jumped into a leadership role and organized team lifts, futsal games, and team functions," Greenslit said. "Therefore, it was very apparent in the captain voting that Connor should be the captain as he received the majority of votes. It has been very encouraging with how Connor has taken to this role and we very proud to call him our RWU Men's Soccer captain."
