BIDDEFORD, Maine – After a superb performance in his first career collegiate game, Roger Williams University Men's Basketball sophomore
Mac Annus (Belmont, Mass.) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week of November 8
th through November 14
th, as it was announced by the conference offices on Monday. Annus poured in 24 points in the Hawks' season-opening victory to receive the honor.
Annus is the first RWU Men's Basketball player to receive the Rookie of the Week recognition since
EJ Nelson (Essex Junction, Vt.) got it for the week of November 25
th through December 1
st back in 2019.
The sophomore was crucial for Roger Williams in their first game in nearly 21 months, grabbing three rebounds and blocking one shot as a part of an exceptional all-around defensive performance, to go with his scoring totals. Annus was also quite efficient in the contest, scoring his 24 points on 8-11 shooting including 6-9 from long range while also hitting both his free throws. In the contest, Annus was good in the first half but really caught fire in the second stanza when RWU pulled away, recording 18 of his 24 points while missing just one of his seven shots.
