How It Happened
The Hawk defense went to work to begin the game, holding Wentworth scoreless over the first six minutes of the game. RWU forced six turnovers and held the Leopards to 0-5 shooting from the field over that stretch. Conversely, Kendi Barnard (Bedford, N.H.) scored four of the Hawks' first eight points to help RWU build an 8-0 lead. Wentworth's Nattaly David broke the scoreless drought with a layup with 3:08 left in the first. However, that would be the Leopards' only basket in the period, as RWU took a 15-2 lead into the second.

That first quarter run would be all the Hawks needed, as Roger Williams led by double digits the rest of the way. With 3:38 left, Karli Opalka (Southbury, Conn.) grabbed a rebound and ran the break, and dropped in a layup to give RWU its largest lead up to that point, a 30-11 advantage. Roger Williams would take that 19-point lead into halftime, going into the break up 32-13.

The Hawks would stay on cruise control in the second half, never letting their lead drop below 19. For the game, Roger Williams held Wentworth to only 22.0 shooting from the field, a season-best for opponent field goal percentage. The 32 points allowed was the least by the Hawks since 2018, when RWU defeated Nichols 50-28.
