NEWPORT, R.I. — The Roger Williams Men's Tennis team earned their fourth win of the season to Salve Regina on Saturday 9-0.
Hawk Highlights
Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) and
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) defeated Ned Batstone (Abingdon, England and Will Chasse (Greenville, R.I.) 8-0 at #1 doubles for an early lead. Both
Arlex Correa (Lynnfield, Mass.) and
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) and
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) and
Nick Cristante (North Haven, Conn.) would defeat their opponents 8-1 to put the Hawks at 3-0 heading into singles.
At singles, Trevethan defeated Batstone 6-2, 6-0 in the #1 spot. Tocco and Shuck won 6-1, 6-0 against Chasse and Samuel Johnson (Newington, Conn.) at #2 and #5. Correa picked up a win over Tyler Hussey (Rocky Hill, Conn.) 6-3, 6-3 at #4. Cain grabbed the 6-4, 7-5 win against Aaron White (Falmouth, Mass.) at #3 and
Jake Bernard (Redding, Conn.) set down Salve's John Vento (Newport, RI) 6-0, 6-3 at #6 for the 9-0 shutout.
