How It Happened
Campbell Haller (Nashua, N.H.) and
Nikki Norton began the game with back-to-back goals for the Hawks. After a Molly Camelo tally, RWU rolled off four straight scores for a 6-1 lead. It appeared at that point, the Hawks would be on their way to another blowout win.
However, despite trailing by five, the Nor'Easters pushed back against RWU, putting up six goals over the final 15 minutes of the opening half. Camelo and Nicole Corriveau each put in scores over the final four minutes of the half to help cut the deficit to four (7-11).
The game would turn in RWU's favor in the second half, as the Hawk defense went to work in the period. The Hawks would hold the Nor'Easters scoreless in the second half and allowed only four total shots in the frame, two of which were on goal.
Conversely, Roger Williams put up nine goals in the frame to earn its third 20-goal game of the season.
Mandy Beck led the way for RWU in the half with three goals in the period.
