BRISTOL, R.I.- The offense of the Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team kept on humming, eclipsing the 20-goal plateau in their fifth consecutive game of the season as the Hawks rolled to an impressive, 20-7 victory over Western New England University on Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
Lauren Flahive (Foxborough, Mass.) and
Devon Sarazin (Falmouth, Maine) recorded five and four points respectively on their senior day. However, it was sophomore
Mandy Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.) who ended up stealing the show scoring six goals in the victory.
Â
With the win, the Hawks finish their abbreviated regular season with a 5-0 record (5-0 CCC) and also clinch the top seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament begining on Wednesday. As for the visiting Golden Bears, they fall to 4-2 (4-2 CCC) on the season.
Â
With her six-goal performance, Beck set a new career-high and matched the season-best mark by any Hawks player for goals in a game. Meanwhile, the team set a new program-best mark by winning five consecutive games to start the year.

How It Happened
Despite the eventual Hawks victory, it was the Golden Bears who appeared to begin taking control of the game early as Samantha Vitka (Stratford, Mass.) and Anabella Arias (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) each found the back of the net straddling a
Lauren Flahive (Foxborough, Mass.) goal across the first ten minutes in this one.
Â
However, then Roger Williams took command of the game, scoring five goals within the span of just two minutes and nine seconds of game time.
Nikki Norton (Braintree, Mass.) tied the game with 18:33 remaining in the half before a pair of scores from
Mandy Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.), another one from Norton, and Flahive's second goal of the contest at the 16:24 mark gave the hosts a 6-2 advantage.
Â
Hannah Jarvis (Westfield, Mass.) finally broke the run for the Golden Bears, but it proved to just be a speed bump for the Hawks as they responded to score three of the next four goals to take a 9-4 lead. Vitka got her second goal of the half with less than a minute remaining to make the score, 9-5 at the half.
Â
Western New England looked to battle back early in the second half. Ally Ferraro (Hamden, Conn.) and scored a man-up goal to open the half and following scores from
Campbell Haller (Nashua, N.H.) and Norton, Vitka scored for the third time in the contest to make the score 11-7 with just under 27 and a half minutes remaining.
Â
It was all Hawks from there however, as Beck,
Devon Sarazin (Falmouth, Maine), and
Lily Cunningham (Melrose, Mass.) all scored within a span of 34 seconds to seize complete control and the hosts finished the game scoring the final nine goals to secure the 20-7 victory.
Â
Hannah Goodwin (Bradford, Mass.) started in net for RWU, manning three-quarters of the contest and stopped half of the 14 shots she faced to earn the victory and improve to 4-0 in goal.
Addie Di Scipio (Falls Church, Va.) entered late on her senior day and stopped each of the two shots she faced.
Â
On the other side, Kaitlyn Merchant (Londonderry, N.H.) passed the eye test but ultimately just could not do much against the onslaught of shots she faced in the game. She finished with 11 saves, but 20 goals allowed, and took the loss in net.
