BRISTOL, R.I. — The top-seeded Roger Williams Men's Tennis team outlasted #2 Nichols 5-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinals to advance to the CCC Championship Match.

RWU took two of the three doubles matches to begin the day. Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) and Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) rolled to an 8-2 win at #1 over Enrico Menegon (Monfumo, Italy) and Michael Dunayevskiy while Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) and Nick Cristante (North Haven, Conn.) took down Ko Nishimura (Tokyo, Japan) and Brendan Stierli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.) 8-5 at #3. Niklas Koehne (Germany) and Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) got Nichols on the board with an 8-5 win at #2 over Arlex Correa (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.).
 
At singles, Trevethan cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at #1 while Tocco downed Kluger 6-0, 6-2 at #2. Caio Dieckmann (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was able to defeat Correa 7-5, 6-4 at #4 while Menegon edged out Cain 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 6-4 at #3. The clinching match for Roger Williams came at #5 singles, with Schuck downing Nishimura 6-3, 7-5. Jake Bernard held a 2-1 lead over Dunayevskiy at #6 prior to the end of the match.
