BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Sailing team put together a solid weekend of racing, coming away with a pair of second-place finishes in their four regattas.
Hawk Highlights
The Hawks suffered from a relative lack of breeze on Saturday, leading to a reduced number of races at a majority of their regattas this weekend. Nonetheless, RWU still made the most of their opportunities on the water.
At the Hatch Brown Trophy, Roger Williams claimed second place among the 18-team field. Pacing the way for RWU were
Cameron Wood (Corona del Mar, Calif.) and
Emily Gildea (Palos Park, Ill.) who cruised to a win at B Division. The Mystic Lake Invitational saw the Hawks send two boats to the water, coming in second and third place. The Hawks 1 boat had both A and B Division earn runner-up results in their division, while the Hawks 2 boats claimed a pair of fourth-place finishes at both divisions.
Mathieu Dale (Christiansted, USVI) and Emmet Nevel (Chicago, Ill.) represented Roger Williams at the NEISA Singlehanded Championship, with Dale collecting fifth place overall and Nevel coming in 12
th. Roger Williams wrapped up their weekend at the Women's Regis Bowl where RWU claimed 12
th place overall.
