How It Happened
Caroline Elie (Rockland, Mass.) laid in a basket for the first points of the game. Cara Andreotti (Everett, Mass.) answered on the other end for Gordon with a three-pointer off a Delaney McDonnell (Wells, Maine) pass. Unfortunately for the Fighting Scots, that would be their only points over a seven-minute stretch as the Hawk defense clamped down on Gordon. RWU went on a 17-0 run while holding Gordon to 0-for-11 shooting from the field and forcing four turnovers. RWU led 19-2 and would go into the second quarter leading 21-6.

Gordon's offense fared slightly better early on in the second, with five points in the first three minutes. Yet the Hawk defense once again stepped up, with a press that the Fighting Scots struggled to beat. Roger Williams held Gordon to only two points over the final 4:50 of play, taking a commanding 47-17 lead into halftime.

Roger Williams never let up the rest of the game, holding Gordon to only seven points in each of the third and fourth quarters while outscoring the Fighting Scots 38-14 in the second half. RWU's defense held Gordon to 6-for-30 shooting from the field in the final two quarters while forcing seven turnovers. Katie Galligan (Pembroke, Mass.) flirted with a triple double, needing just one assist and two rebounds to reach the milestone.
