BRISTOL, R.I. – On a flurry-filled Friday evening in Bristol, the Roger Williams University Wrestling team was collecting a flurry of takedowns on their way to a 48-0 victory over Plymouth State University at the Campus Rec Center. RWU collected a pair of pins in addition to four forfeits on the night on their way to the win.
 
With the victory, the Hawks move to 15-4 in duals action on the season while the Panthers drop to 0-2.
 
Beginning action at 125 tonight, the Hawks got a dozen right off the bat thanks to wins by forfeit for Ben Dubois (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Kyle Kaiser (Paramus, N.J.). Wrestling finally got started at 141 with Peter Tringali (Chester, N.J.) making quick work of Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) finishing a 17-1 win by tech fall in the second period.
 
The Panthers made things difficult for the Hawks in the middle weight classes. First at 149, Tagan Welch (Plantsville, Conn.) built a first-period advantage over Tyler O'Mara (Litchfield, N.H.) and ended up winning by decision, 14-7. It was a similar story at 157 as Michael Forte (Westbury, N.Y.) dominated the opening frame but Trevor O'Mara (Litchfield, N.H.) kept things interesting and mounted a comeback though Forte would end up winning by decision, 6-4.
 
Jacob Cardozo (Southington, Conn.) secured a Roger Williams win by getting six on a second-period pin of Robert Ladd (Litchfield, N.H.). He was followed by a win by major decision by Leonard Breit (Johnson, R.I.) over Javier Gonzalez (Baltimore, Md.), 12-2. Varsity matchups wrapped up with Cole Shaughnessy (Fairfield, Conn.) and Addison Boisvert (Scarborough, Maine) picking up wins by forfeit on either side of a Travis Arata (Riverdale, N.J.) win by decision over Christian Kuechler (Chester, N.H.), 12-6 at 197.
 
In extra matches, the Hawks went 9-2 with seven wins by fall.
