SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University women's soccer team defeated Western New England Saturday in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action, 1-0.
While the Hawks were outshot 5-3 in shots on net, the Hawks goalkeeper
Coco Marrelli (Fairfield, Conn.) made five saves in the shutout, her third of the season.
The lone goal of the match came at the 7:08 mark of the first half, when
Bianca Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) fired a shot at the top of the penalty box, firing it past Western New England goalkeeper Molly McLaughlin.
The Hawks didn't allow a goal in the contest, while being outshot 6-3 in the first half and 8-3 in the second.
Roger Williams (7-9-3, 3-3-2 CCC) currently are in a three-way tie with Gordon and Salve Regina for fourth place in the CCC and will host Nichols on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in their final contest of the regular season.
