BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams University women's basketball team dominated UMass Dartmouth Tuesday night, 81-56.
The Hawks scored their first points 55 seconds into the game, with
Katie Galligan (Pembroke, Mass.) making the shot, assisted by
Kendi Barnard (Bedford, N.H.). Moments later
Nikki Rosa (Nahant, Mass.) scored, assisted by
Caroline Elie (Rockland, Mass.). Galligan went on to be one of the top scorers in the game, earning a total of 20 points.
Sophie Araneo (Branford, Conn.), who scored a total of 17 points, made her first shot of the game, a 3-point shot, in the first quarter, assisted by Rosa. The Hawks pulled away early in the game, ending the first half leading 41-25.
Going into the second half, Elie made good on a layup, assisted by Rosa. Elie earned a total of 20 points, 4 assists, and 9 rebounds in the game. Rosa scored the second 3-point shot for the Hawks in the third quarter, assisted by Barnard, bringing the score to 52-31 with the Hawks leading. Barnard had 5 assists this game, she had the most assists of the game.
The Roger Williams women's basketball team (2-2, 0-0 CCC) will next host Brandeis on Monday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. The Hawks will then go on to face Nichols on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
