Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams University men's basketball team won against Curry on Saturday afternoon, 73-58.
Sean Gogolin (Winchester, Mass.) was the highest scoring player, having a total of 19 points and seven rebounds.
Mac Annus (Belmont, Mass.) scored 13 points, had two assists, and three rebounds.
John Ah Kao (Dumont, N.J.) also scored in the double digits with 12 points. He also had one assist and four rebounds.
Max Manjos (Monroe, Conn.) got the scoring started for the Hawks with a layup. The Hawks were unable to pull far from Curry, the two teams staying within four points of one another throughout the half and ending the first half tied, 24-24.
Annus made a three-point shot around two minutes into the second half, springing the Hawks ahead. Moments later,
Nate Lopes (Scituate, Mass.) and
Will MacDonald (York, Maine) sank back to back three-point shots. The Hawks were able to pull away from Curry. Roger Williams led Curry in fastbreak points, 17-11, steals, 8-4, and rebounds, 41-39.
Roger Williams (4-2, 2-0 CCC) will take on Suffolk on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. They will then host UMaine Presque Isle on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.
