WINCHESTER, Mass. — The Roger Williams Men's Tennis team began their spring season, soaring past the Emerson College Lions by a final score, 6-3 at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Club on Saturday.
 
Hawk Highlights
The Hawks came off their winter hiatus showing some slight rust, dropping two of the first three singles matches with the lone victory coming from a 6-2 and 6-4 performance by senior Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.), meanwhile the two losses were both three set battles. The rest of the singles matches were handled with relative ease for the visitors, with the Hawks winning the remaining three contests, all in two sets each, and was highlighted by senior Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) sweeping Cooper Sherman in both sets.
 
In doubles competition, Roger Williams once again showed their prowess winning two of the three matches that included a Tocco/Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) 8-2 win, and a Cain/Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) 8-1 win. Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) and Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) dropped the lone doubles match for the visitors by a score of 8-3.
