BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams wrestling team won both of their duals in the Campus Rec Center Fieldhouse, breezing past Plymouth State, 55-0, and Bridgewater State, 37-12.
The seniors on the team were recognized in a pre-match ceremony. The 14 seniors are Ben Bariso (Butler, N.J.), Addison Boisvert (Scarborough, Maine), Leonard Breit (Johnston, R.I.), Jacob Cardozo (Southington, Conn.), Tom Cullerton (Nashua, N.H.), Ari Dinerman (Ashland, Mass.), Ben Dubois (Rehoboth, Mass.), Tommy Gallagher (Foxborough, Mass.), Kevin Luker (Westminster, Colo.), Kyle Setzer (Derry, N.H.), Dante Simeti (Pearl River, N.Y.), Peter Tringali (Chester, N.J.), Eddie Troyano (Wading River, N.Y.), and Cole Wolkner (Farmington, Conn.).
Dinerman started things off against Plymouth in the 125 lbs. division, winning against Nick Savariego by fall. Six matchups were won for the Hawks by way of fall. Tringali and Wolkner each won by major decision, going 12-4 at 149 and 13-2 at 184 respectively.
Going up against Bridgewater, Bariso won at 157, pinning his opponent. Following his lead, teammates Cardozo, Jayden Curley (Mansfield, Mass.), and Spencer Fetrow (Holliston, Mass.) each won by fall at 165, 174, and 197 pounds. Dubois got his victory by way of major decision, 11-2, at 125 lbs. division.
Roger Williams (17-4) will next face Rhode Island College and New England College on Saturday, February 4 beginning at 10 am. They will then be on the road to face Johnson & Wales the following Saturday.
