BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women's volleyball team fell to Endicott 3-2 (25-21, 25-21, 17-25, 17-25, 15-17) on Friday evening at the Roger Williams Recreation Center in a conference match.
The Hawks hit .182 in the match, while Endicott hit a percentage of .263. Roger Williams held a 7-6 advantage in aces while posting 58 kills and 68 digs.
Brianna Picchietti (Batavia, Ill.) led the Hawks in kills during this match with 19, with
Kaylee Jackson (Naugatuck, Conn.) closely following with 16.
Marianna Hernandez (Norwalk, Conn.) contributed with 22 digs, leading the way for the Hawks.
Roger Williams started strong with a 5-0 lead in the first set, eventually resulting in a 25-21 victory. The second set was tied at 18-18 before the Hawks took control and won 25-21. After hard-fought third and fourth sets, the Hawks eventually fell to Endicott in the fifth set with a score of 17-15.
Roger Williams (5-10, 1-2 CCC) will travel to New London, Conn., to face Coast Guard on Saturday, Oct. 7, before competing in back-to-back home games against Rhode Island College and Western New England, respectively.
