ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team used a 2-1 doubles session to take control against SUNY Oneonta, defeating the Red Dragons, 7-2, at Sanlando Park.
In doubles play the Hawks, picked up the first point of the match, after
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) and
Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) picked up an 8-5 win No. 3 doubles. The Red Dragons then won their match at No. 2 Doubles, 8-4, before Roger Williams First Doubles pairing of
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) and
Konnor Collins (Brocken Arrow, Okla.) picked up an 8-5 win.
In singles play,
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) had a 6-2, 6-2 victory over his opponent and Collins then finished his opponent 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Carroll had the clinching win at No. 2 singles with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-2 win.
The Hawks then added a pair of pair of wins in No. 5 singles with
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) scoring a 6-4, 6-1 victory before a win by Trevethan, 6-2, 6-1.
Roger Williams (4-1, 0-0 CCC) faces Franciscan-Steubenville on Wednesday, Mar. 15 at 7:30 am.
