BRISTOL, R.I.—The Roger Williams University men's tennis team came out on top in their matches against Suffolk on Tuesday afternoon, winning 9-0.
In doubles play, the duo of
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) and
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) finished first in the No. 3 spot, going 8-0. No. 2 doubles team
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) and
Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) were next to complete their match, 8-1.
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) and
Konnor Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) also continued their winning streak in the No. 1 spot, 8-2.
In singles play, Glassman was the first to finish his match, leading 6-0 in both sets, this is the ninth win that he has had in the No. 6 singles spot this season. Carroll, Schuck, and Collins won their matches in turn.
Johnny Baldyga (Simsbury, Conn.) won at the No. 4 spot, 6-0, 6-4. Trevethan, in the No. 1 position, was the last to complete his match. He went 6-2, 6-0, making this his fifth win on the season in singles play.
Following the matches, the seniors on the team were honored in a ceremony. The senior players recognized were Schuck and Trevethan.
Roger Williams (11-2, 5-1 CCC) will be on the road on Thursday, April 13 at 3:30 pm, against Western New England. They will then face Bridgewater State on Friday, April 14.
