Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis defeated Western New England 9-0 on Thursday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
The Hawks jumped out with a sweep of doubles play with the No. 3 doubles pairing of
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) and
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) taking their match, 8-0. No. 1 doubles team of
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) and
Konnor Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) took their match 8-2.
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) and
Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) then closed out the doubles sweep winning a tight match at No. 2 doubles, 8-7.
Glassman took his singles match, 6-2, 6-0, before the Hawks clinched the match at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-1 with Smith taking the victory. The Hawks then closed out the match winning the final four matches of the day.
Roger Williams (12-2, 6-1 CCC) will face Bridgewater State on Friday, Apr. 14 at 3:30 pm. The Hawks will then travel to face Endicott on Wednesday, Apr. 19 at 3 pm to round out CCC play.
