WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University women's lacrosse team downed Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Gordon, Wednesday afternoon at Brigham Complex, 23-4.
Ryleigh Cavanaugh (Manchester, N.H.) had a pair of goals and four assists for six points with seven draw controls in the tilt, while
Mandy Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.) scored a game-high four goals with one assist for five points, while also adding a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls. Defensively, Roger Williams saw
Kate Shultz (Portsmouth, N.H.) have three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
The Hawks jumped out to a 12-goal lead in the opening quarter, with the Hawks adding five more in the second frame to take a commanding 17-0 lead before halftime. The Hawks scored one in the third quarter, to break up a three goal frame for the Fighting Scots, before rebounding for fie goals in the final quarter, closing out the win.
Roger Williams (7-6, 4-1 CCC) will host University of New England on Saturday, Apr. 15 for Senior Day at 12 pm. The Hawks will then travel to face Babson on Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 4 pm.
