BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team defeated No. 7 seeded Suffolk on Saturday in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament Quarterfinal contest at the RWU Tennis Courts, 5-0.
The Hawks picked up their first point of the match at No. 3 doubles when
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) and
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) combined for an 8-0 win against their opponents.
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) and
Konnor Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) then picked up an 8-1 victory over their opponents in No. 1 doubles, before the No. 2 pairing of
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) and
Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.) closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win.
In singles action, Carroll took a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 2 singles, before Glassman finished the match with a 6-0, 6-0 No. 6 singles victory to close out the match.
Roger Williams (15-2, 7-1 CCC) will host the No. 3 Gordon on Wednesday at a time to be determined.
