BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University women's lacrosse team picked up a 25-3 victory over Wentworth on Saturday, 25-3, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at Sweeney Field.
The Hawks' offense was led by
Brooke McErlain (Hampton, N.H.) who tallied eight points on four goals and four assists with a four draw controls and a ground ball.
Ryleigh Cavanaugh (Manchester, N.H.) had four goals and three assists with four draw controls, a caused turnover, and a ground ball.
Mandy Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.) had two caused turnovers to lead the Hawks with a ground ball and five goals. In cage,
Zoey Cormican (Rochester, N.H.) made six saves in cage.
Roger Williams opened up scoring in the opening 1:05 with a goal by Cavannaugh to open things up. The Hawks went on a 18-0 run to begin the contest with the run being broken up by a pair of goals by Helen Hamblett. The Hawks outscored the Leopards 10-3 in the second half, as the closed out the win.
Roger Williams (10-6, 6-1 CCC) will host Salve Regina for their regular season finale on Wednesday, Apr. 26 at 4 pm. The Hawks will then host an CCC Tournament Quarterfinal on Saturday, Apr. 29.
