DUDLEY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team is set to meet No. 1 Nichols in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Match for the second consecutive season.
The Hawks and Nichols met earlier this season, with the Bison coming out on top for a 7-2 win.
The Hawks and Bison met last season in the CCC Championship with Nichols winning the conference title 5-1. Roger Williams is in their third consecutive title game, after winning their last CCC Tournament Title in 2021.
At the No. 1 singles spot, the Biston will see Tervor Schwarzman match up with
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) with Schwarzmann producing a 10-10 record on the year, while Trevethan has gone 11-4 in singles play on the year.
At No. 2 singles
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) will take the lead with a 12-3 record on the season against the Bison's Leon Zeis who has a 5-9 record. At No. 3 singles it will be Frederik Bertrams with a 6-3 record on the season against the Hawks
Konnor Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) who is 9-5.
At No. 4 singles,
Johnny Baldyga (Simsbury, Conn.) will put his 10-4 record against 10-6 Yannick De Vet, while Caio Dieckmann and
Ryan Shuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) will match up in No. 5 singles.
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) will play No. 6 singles against Ludwig Schlatzer.
In the doubles action, Zeis and Bertrams will face Trevethan and Collins at the top pairing, while De Vet and Schlatzer face off against Carroll and
Alex Smith (Bedford, N.H.). Rounding out doubles action will be Santiago Perez and Dieckmann against Schuck and Glassman.
The CCC Championship match will take place on Friday, Apr. 29 at 4 pm at Nichols.
