DUDLEY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team fell to Nichols, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
In doubles play, the Bison picked up the first point of the game with an 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles. The Hawks No. 3 doubles pairing of
Ryan Schuck (Glastonbury, Conn.) and
Matt Glassman (West Hartford, Conn.) won 8-6, and
Jon Trevethan (Berlin, Conn.) and
Konnor Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) took an 8-3 win in No. 1 singles.
The Bison grabbed wins in No. 6 and No. 5 singles, heading into the final four matches with a 3-2 lead. The Bison then took No. 4 singles and No. 2 singles to clinch the match.
Roger Williams (10-2, 4-1 CCC) will be off until Tuesday, Apr. 11 at 4 pm when they take on Suffolk at the RWU Tennis Courts. The Hawks will then close out their regular season slate against Western New England, Bridgewater State, and Endicott.
