Athletics: Lacey Harris Named Head Athletic Trainer at Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – Director of Athletics, Intramurals, and Recreation Kiki Jacobs has announced the hiring of Lacey Harris as the Roger Williams University Athletic Department's next Head Athletic Trainer.

"We are excited to welcome Lacey to the Roger Williams community. During the interview process, we were impressed with her enthusiasm and her student-athlete focus," said Jacobs.

"I am extremely honored to be joining the Roger Williams Athletic Department and campus community," said Harris. "One of my favorite parts of being an Athletic Trainer is getting to build relationships with the student-athletes, coaches, and staff. I am excited to get to RWU and start getting to know everyone and looking forward to a great year."

Harris most recently served as the Head Athletic Trainer / Athletic Training Director with PRO-PT, Inc. since 2014, being contracted out to Tulare Union High School. Harris supervised eight Athletic Trainers, providing coverage for 18 sports at Tulare Union.

Prior to her stop in Tulare, she worked at California State University at Bakersfield. While at Bakersfield she primarily covered volleyball, wrestling, and beach volleyball, while assisting with the coverage of the other 14 NCAA Division I programs.

Roger Williams will not be Harris' first stop on the east coast, working with the Pensacola Ice Flyers and Pensacola Pelicans from 2009 until July 2012. She has also made stops with the Twin City Cyclones of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) and Belmont Abbey.

Harris graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from King's College, before attending Rider University for a Masters of Arts in Counseling.  While at Rider, Harris also served as an Athletic Training Graduate Assistant. Harris is scheduled to begin in her new role in mid-July.
