MILTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University women's soccer team picked up a win Saturday afternoon against Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action, 2-0, at Walter M. Katz Field.
The Hawks were out shot 12-10 in the match, trailing 5-4 in shots on goal. The Hawks saw goalkeeper
Coco Marrelli (Fairfield, Conn.) make five saves in the match, with
Bianca Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) and
Jen Donohue (Halifax, Mass.) each scoring a goal for the Hawks.
The Hawks were the first team to strike with Donohue scoring the first goal for Roger Williams in the 42
nd minute.
In the second half, Roger Williams scored again, with a goal 4:42 into the second half with the Hawks taking a commanding 2-0 lead. The Colonels outshot the Hawks 9-5 in the second half, with the Hawks holding Curry off the scoreboard for the win.
Roger Williams (2-5-2, 1-0-0 CCC) will travel to face UMass Boston on Monday, Sept. 25 7:00 pm before traveling to Bridgewater State on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7:00 pm.
