WORCESTER, MASS. –  The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming team traveled to Worcester, Mass. to face off against WPI and Ithaca in a double-dual meet on Sunday, Oct 27th.
 
In Individual action, the Hawks' Riley Williams (Arvada, Colo.) started the day off in the 1000 yard freestyle, placing 1st with a time of 10:10.00. Williams also swam for the Hawks in the 200 yard breaststroke event in which he came 1st with a time of 2:08.75. In the Individual Medley, Williams swam to another 1st place finish with a time of 1:55.45.
 
Connor Poetsch (Randolph, N.J.) swam for the Hawks in the 200 yard freestyle finding a 4th place finish with a time of 1:49.21. Poetsch also swam in the 500 yard freestyle event where he placed in 4th for the Hawks with a time of 4:59.70.
 
Carter Brown (Lake Ridge, Va.) competed for the Hawks in the 100 yard and 200 yard backstroke events placing 4th and 3rd, respectively, with times of 55:50 and 2:02.26.
 
In the 100 yard breaststroke event, Luke Austin (Essex Junction, Vt.) swam for the Hawks finding himself a 2nd place with a time of 1:01.73.
 
Seth Sutton (Dumfries, Va.) competed for the Hawks in the 100 yard butterfly, bringing home a 1st place with a time of 52.32. For the 200 yard butterfly, Drew Hebert (Melrose, Mass.) got another 1st place for the Hawks with a time of 2:01.53.
 
In the 50 yard freestyle, Blake Anderson (Seekonk, Mass.) swam to a 4th place finish with a time of 21.70. In the 100 yard freestyle, Sutton swam for the Hawks bringing in a 4th place with a time of 48.09.
 
As for relay action, in the 200 yard freestyle relay, the Hawks' Sutton, Poetsch, Vince Tarolli (Syracuse, N.Y.), and Anderson swam to a 2nd place finish with a time of 1:26.29. In the 400 yard Medley, the Hawks' took home a 1st place finish thanks to Brown, Williams, Sutton and Tarolli's race, finishing with a time of 3:30.90.

The Roger Williams Men's Swimming team will travel to face both Coast Guard and Kean on Saturday, Nov 9th in New London, Conn. Next, they will return home to host the Fisher Invitational on Saturday, Nov 23rd at 10:00 AM.
