HAMPTON, Va. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming team placed fifth at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex.
The Hawks finished the meet with 625 points, while The College of New Jersey took the top spot with 1714 points. Merchant Marine placed second with 1190, while Salisbury rounded out the top three with 1181.5. Rowan placed fourth with 971 points.
In the 200 Breaststroke,
Riley Williams set another school record with a time of 2:00.59, finishing third in the finals, Hitting an NCAA B-Cut in the process. The Hawks also saw a school record falling the 400-yard freestyle relay, as
Seth Sutton,
Vince Tarolli, Williams, and
Blake Anderson finishing in 3:03.78.
In the 1650 freestyle,
Connor Poetsch and
Ethan Cooper finished in 17
th and 18
th respectively, while posting times of 16:56.34 and 16:56.59. In the 200 yard backstroke
Carter Brown finished in 17
th place with a time of 1:57.40, while Sutton and Tarolli finished in 14
th and 15
th in the 100 yard freestyle. In the 200 yard butterfly,
Dylan Gourlay finished with a time of 1:55.22.
The Hawks will await potential selections to the NCAA Championships, that are set to be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 1:00 pm.
