BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams women's soccer team faced Gordon on the road for their third conference matchup of the season, drawing with them 1-1.
The Hawks had 10 shots, four of which were on goal, throughout the matchup compared to Gordon's 24 shots with seven on goal. For the Hawks, junior
Julia Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) had the most shots, having six throughout the game. Also having shots this match were senior captain
Sarah Baptista (Smithfield, R.I.) and
Jordan Powers (Framingham, Mass.) who each had one shot during the game.
The Hawks had three corner kick opportunities within the game whereas Gordon had five corner kicks throughout the matchup. Each team was able to score one goal within the match, with both goals coming within the second half of the game. The Hawks' goal came from sophomore
Casey Donnelly (Norwalk, Conn.) in the 51st minute of the match. Gordon retaliated with a goal just ten minutes later by Eowyn Lapp in the 62nd minute of the game. Lapp had eight shots for the Scots during the match.
Defensively, junior goalkeeper
Coco Marrelli (Fairfield, Conn.) faced seven shots throughout the matchup and making six saves.
The Roger Williams women's soccer team (6-2-4, 0-0-3 CNE) will hit the road again on Wednesday, Oct 9th to travel to Worcester, Mass. where they will face Worcester State on John Coughlin Memorial Field at 7:00 pm before they are on the road again on Saturday, Oct 12th in Biddeford, Maine where they will face the University of New England in their next CNE matchup at 12:00 pm on Barbara J. Hazard Field.
