Women's Soccer: Hawks Tie for a Fifth Time Against Worcester, 0-0

WORCESTER, MASS. – The Roger Williams University women's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday, Oct 9th where they faced Worcester State, drawing them, 0-0, and making this the Hawks' fourth CNE tie game in the 2024 season.
 
In the first half of the matchup, the Hawks had four shots with half of these being on target. The Lancers had five shots, four of which were placed on frame. The Hawks saw four corner kick opportunities whereas the Lancers saw zero in the first half.
 
At the start of the second half, the Lancers came out strong having three shots early on. In total, they had five shots for the half, a total of 10 for the game. The Hawks had ­­­­nine shots in the second half, totaling 13 shots for the game. Junior Julia Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) having found the goal the most for the Hawks this match, having four shots and placing three on frame throughout the matchup.
 
Defensively, goalkeeper Coco Marrelli  (Fairfield, Conn.) faced seven shots, making seven saves throughout the matchup and adding another clean sheet to her record, having six for the 2024 season.
 
The Roger Williams women's soccer team will travel to Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, Oct 12th where they will face the University of New England on Barbara J. Hazard Field at 12:00 pm for their start of continuous CNE play for the rest of the season. After that, the Hawks will host Endicott at home on Bayside Field on Tuesday, Oct 15th at 4:00 pm.
