SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Cross Country team has completed a four-peat, as they took home their fourth conference title in as many seasons, at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship.
The Hawks took home their fourth straight conference title, taking the team title with 38 points, while Suffolk tallied 50 points finishing in second.
Nathan Tassey (Whitman, Mass.) picked up his third straight conference title with a time of 25:14.97, placing first by over 10.98.
The Hawks took three of the top four spots, with
Dylan Beggins (Bayshore, N.Y.) and
Nathan Evans (Lincoln, R.I.) finishing third and fourth with times of 25:29.44 and 25:41.07 respectively. Both set a new personal best in the 8K race.
Harrison Krause (Glastonbury, Conn.) also earned All-Conference honors finishing 12
th in the race, with a time of 26:15.16, averaging a 5:17.5 mile.
Justin Dickson (Londonderry, N.H.) and
Ryan Cotugno (Melrose, Mass.) earned spots at 18
th and 19
th respectively, finishing with average miles of 5:20.3, and 5:23.8 respectively, coming into the gate with times of 26:32.5, and 26:49.8.
Colin Czuchra (Oxford, Conn.) placed 23
rd in the field with a 27:21.8 time. The next RWU group game with
Kyle Tarpy (Haverhill, Mass.),
Wesley Baccay (Chappaqua, N.Y.), and
Oliver Polster finishing 26
th, 27
th, and 28
th respectively. Tarpy and Polster set personal records with times of 27:31.6 and 27:37.1 respectively.
The Hawks also saw personal bests from
Gabriel Huff,
Max Hargreaves (Needham, Mass.),
Josh Soucy (Manchester, N.H.),
Rowan Conquest (Plymouth, Mass.),
Dylan Hovey (Old Lyme, Conn.), and
Louis Sader (Windham, N.H.) each had personal bests in the race.
Roger Williams now turns their attention to the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 in New London, Conn.
