BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University men's basketball team is coming off a big semifinal win against No. 1 Nichols.
Roger Williams University is set to take on No.6 Suffolk University in the CCC Championship final. The Hawks currently hold a (13-14) record going into the championship having 8-8 in the CCC this season. Suffolk also holds an 8-8 record in the CCC this season.
Overall, Roger Williams ranks 3rd in the conference for offensive points averaging an 82.6 points per game to Suffolk's 75.3. The Hawks also hold the highest field goal percentage amongst their opponents, where as Suffolk falls in 5th amongst the rest of the conference.
Going into the final, Mac Annus (Belmont, Mass.) holds the most points for Roger Williams having scored 333 total points and holding a 20.8 point average in conference games this season. John Ah Kao (Dumont, N.J.) follows behind him having 15.2 points.
Sophomore Philip Sughrue (Winchester, Mass.) leads the Hawks' assists having had 61 assists this season and an average of 4.7 assists in conference games.
Shughrue also leads the Hawk's with 20 steals in conference games this season. Sean Gogolin (Winchester, Mass.) follows with 13 steals.
Freshman Finn Miller (Stamford, Conn.) leads the Hawk's in rebounds this season with a total of 29 offensive rebounds, 91 defensive rebounds and an average of 8.6 per conference game.
For Suffolk, junior Keenan Robertson is the top scorer for the Rams bringing with him a total of 282 points scored in conference games this season.
Danny Yardemian leads the Rams into the championship holding 56 assists this conference season. Followed by Evan Cook with 46 assists.
Robertson also leads with 26 offensive rebounds, 81 defensive rebounds and a total of 107 rebounds in conference games this season.
No. 5 Roger Williams will host No. 6 Suffolk University on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3pm in the Campus Recreation Center.
