BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at the RWU Tennis Courts, defeating Suffolk in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play.
In double action, the No. 2 doubles pairing of
Camden Poitras and
Konnor Collins took an 8-0 win ahead of the No. 3 pairing of
Johnny Baldyga and
Matt Glassman who did the same by an identical score.
Ryan Carroll and
Will Hurlbut capped off the double session with an 8-2 victory.
In singles play, Poitras took No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1 ahead of Glassman who clinched the match at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4 singles, Collins earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory before Hurlbut took his match in the No. 5 singles spot 6-2, 6-1. Baldyga and Carroll then closed out their matches with wins clinching the sweep.
Roger Williams (11-3, 4-0 CCC) will host Gordon on Monday, Apr. 15 at 4:00 pm against Gordon. Nichols will then visit Roger Williams on Wednesday, Apr. 17 at 4:00 pm.
