BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University men's tennis team remained unbeaten in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action with a 6-3 victory over Gordon on Monday afternoon at the RWU Tennis Courts.
In doubles play, Ezekiel Hall and Jeffrey Bodner defeated
Ryan Carroll and
Will Hurlbut 8-4, before
Matt Glassman and
Johnny Baldyga picked up a point for the Hawks with a win at No. 3 doubles. The Hawks took a 2-1 lead following the doubles portion as
Camden Poitras and
Konnor Collins won their No. 2 doubles match 8-7, with a 13-11 tiebreaker.
In singles play, Poitras earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory to take a 3-1 match lead. Glassman then earned a 6-1, 6-4 points before the Fighting Scots earned a point at No. 2 singles. Hurlbut earned the winning point at No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Larson Benthem.
Collins picked up the sixth point of the match for Roger Williams before Hall took the win at No. 1 singles for Fighting Scots.
Roger Williams (12-3, 5-0 CCC) will host their final regular season home match of the season on Wednesday, Apr. 17 at 4:00 pm, the Hawks will then travel to face Wentworth on Saturday, Apr. 20.
