Women's Soccer: Hawks Down UMass Dartmouth in Wednesday Evening Tilt, 2-1

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MASS – The Roger Williams women's soccer team took on UMass Dartmouth Wednesday evening and defeated them in a 2-1 showdown.
 
In the first half, the Hawks had the first goal of the game in the 17th minute by senior Sabrina Sherman (Brentwood, N.H.) when she was able to pick the ball off of the center back and quickly find the back of the net. About five minutes later, UMass retaliated with a goal themselves by Lilly Jaeger. Shortly after, the Hawks' Raffaella Brunetti (North Providence, R.I.) challenged the keeper, picking the ball from her and scoring a second goal and bringing the score to 2-1 for the Hawks in the 30th minute of the game.
 
Within the second half of the matchup, Julia Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) had the most individual shots for the Hawks throughout the game, having four. Senior captain, Sarah Baptista (Smithfield, R.I.) followed closely behind them, having three shots, two of which were on goal. The Hawks had a total of 16 shots throughout the matchup, 10 of which were on frame.
 
The Roger Williams University women's soccer team will host UMass Boston at home on Bayside Field Monday, Sept 16th at 7:00pm before traveling away for their first CNE matchup of the 2024 season against Western New England in Springfield, Mass. on Suprenant Field, Saturday, Sept 21st at 12:00pm.
