Box Score MILTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams Women's Soccer team traveled to Curry and battled the Colonels to a 0-0 draw Wednesday evening.
RWU started the first half with opportunities, drawing two corners and taking a pair of shots in the first six minutes of play. The Hawks outshot Curry 9-6 in the first half, with three shots being taken by Beth Yucius (Duxbury, Mass.). Despite each having two corners a piece, the teams went into halftime tied at 0-0.
The Hawks had multiple chances in the second half, generating five corners and taking seven shots, with three being on goal. Despite outshooting Curry 16-12 overall and holding the advantage on corner kicks, 7-3, the Hawks could not break through.
Defensively, goalkeeper Coco Marrelli (Fairfield, Conn.) anchored the Hawks' back line, facing five total shots and making five saves to secure the clean sheet.
Roger Williams (9-1-4, 4-0-2 CNE) will continue conference play hosting Hartford on Saturday, Oct. 18th during Roger Williams' Homecoming & Family Weekend. The Hawks will then host Gordon on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Curry (4-6-4, 1-3-3 CNE) will host University of Maine Fort Kent on Friday, Oct. 17th. The Colonels will then return to conference play and travel to Endicott on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd.
