WENHAM, Mass. - The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team defeated Conference of New England (CNE) foe Gordon in a five-set battle, 3-2 (17-25, 25-23, 20-25, 26-24, 15-12).
The Hawks had a total of 59 kills in the match to Gordon's 52. The Hawks also committed 27 errors to Gordon's 24. The Fighting Scots had 16 aces to the Hawks 9, while both teams were even on blocks at eight a piece.
Roger Williams was led by Peyton Felix (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Brianna Picchietti (Batavia, Ill.) who had 20 and 15 kills respectively. Kaylee Jackson (Naugatuck, Conn.) also had 11 kills and 24 digs on the day. Emma Bosco (North Andover, Mass.) orchestrated the offense and recorded a total of 50 assists in the matchup.
Defensively, Marianna Hernandez (Norwalk, Conn.) lead in digs, posting 26 total. While Kaydence Fish (Bedford, N.H.) led the Hawks in aces and blocks, recording three and five respectively.
Roger Williams (10-9, 6-0 CNE) will return to action with a home stint, hosting Rivier on Wednesday, Oct. 22. They will then host the next three matches including CNE foe Wentworth on Saturday, Oct. 25, ECSU on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and the back to CNE play with UNE on Saturday, Nov. 1.
