Softball: Maudie Announces Additions of Sargent and Pacheco to Coaching Staff.

BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University Head Softball Coach Joyce Maudie has announced the additions of Kylene Pacheco and Heather Sargent to the Hawks' coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season.

"We are very fortunate to add two veteran coaches to the coaching ranks," spoke Maudie. "Their experience and presence will be invaluable in the Hawks' quest for excellence in the CNE."

Sargent brings more than two decades of coaching and sports performance experience to Bristol. She is the founder and owner of Energy No Limit, a Massachusetts-based athletic training and player development organization that has worked with athletes from youth to collegiate levels since 2012.

Known as "Sarge", Sargent brings a coaching background that includes collegiate experience at Wheaton College, serving as an assistant and catching coach, as well as high school coaching stints at Coyle Cassidy, as head coach, and Taunton High School, as an assistant, helping guide Taunton to a Massachusetts State Championship in 2007.

A standout collegiate player, Sargent competed at Merrimack College and was part of two Northeast-10 Conference Championship teams and was an NCAA Division II College World Series participant. "Sarge" also collected four All-Star selections as a high school player at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional.

In addition, Sargent is a certified personal trainer, a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

"We are pleased to welcome Sarge to our program. As a known and respected softball skills instructor, Sarge brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across multiple levels of the game, and will be a great addition for our catcher development and hitting fundamentals," said Maudie.

Pacheco joins RWU with more than a decade of experience as a softball instructor and coach, working with players across youth and collegiate levels. She most recently served as an instructor with Frozen Ropes in Natick, Massachusetts, where she led skill-based lessons for pitchers and position players from ages three through college.

She previously spent a season as an assistant varsity softball coach at Ashland High School, helping develop athletes both on and off the field while assisting with practice planning, game strategy, and team operations.

A former collegiate standout, Pacheco played for Worcester State University from 2010 to 2013, where she was a senior leader and member of the CJ National Honor Society.

"We are thrilled to add Kylene to the Hawk coaching staff. As the new coach overseeing pitcher development, Kylene brings a notable passion for softball and a strong commitment to player growth. Her exceptional work ethic and keen attention to detail have already made an immediate and positive impact on our talented and seasoned pitching staff."

The two join a coaching staff that consists of Head Coach Maudie and assistant coaches, Orlando Lugo and Jordyn Carpenter.
