Softball: Five Hawks Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

BRISTOL, R.I. — Roger Williams University placed five student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for softball for the 2025 season.

Caroline Thomas, Jaime Wells, Lucy Maurao, Shannon Starratt, and Kiera Quadros each earned selection to the All-District team. Honorees must be academically and athletically sophomores or older, and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, while being key contributors for their team.

Starratt, the Hawks' top offensive performer, led the team with a .386 batting average while starting all 42 games. She tallied 51 hits, including 11 doubles, three triples, and six home runs. Starratt drove in 27 runs and tallied 86 total bases for a .652 slugging percentage, while also posting a strong .457 on-base percentage and perfect 3-for-3 mark in stolen bases.

Maurao, started all 37 games she appeared in the outfield, compiling a .336 batting average with 39 hits, including seven doubles, two triples, and a home run. She added 12 RBIs and reached base at a .400 clip while handling 47 defensive chances with a .936 fielding percentage.

Thomas made 28 starts in 35 appearances and hit .232. She totaled 16 hits, three doubles, and a home run, while adding six RBIs and four stolen bases. Despite modest offensive numbers, Thomas's 16 walks and two hit-by-pitches contributed to a strong .378 on-base percentage.

Wells, the Hawks' played in each appearance at first base, started all 40 games she played in. She managed to contribute 13 hits, two doubles, and a triple, along with 10 RBIs. She provided consistent defense with a .990 fielding percentage over 198 chances.

Quadros, a sophomore pitcher, was a key arm in the circle for RWU. She made 19 appearances with 16 starts and seven wins, logging 104.1 innings. She posted a 3.02 ERA and struck out 87 batters while holding opponents to a .260 batting average. Quadros also recorded two saves and three shutouts.

Roger Williams finished the season 24-18 overall, including an 11-7 mark in conference play.
