BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams are getting set to begin their season beginning on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15 when they take part in the Lynn Ruddy Invitational at Bodwoin and Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT.
The Hawks Track & Field programs enter their third season with Head Coach
Maura Logan at the helm, and will look to win their third straight men's conference title, after clinching their second victory by 133 points. The women's squad placed fifth and will be looking for their first title since the 2021 campaign.
On the men's squad, Logan returns seven of their gold medals from last season while the women's squad adds a gold. The Hawks sent a total of 19 competitors to the New England Regional Championships last season.
The Hawks have 10 meets on the calendar, not including the Indoor and Outdoor New England Championships pending qualification from student-athletes.
Roger Williams will open their season on Friday at the Lynn Ruddy Invitational, before beginning competition at the Gordon Kelly Invitational. The following weekend will continue the indoor portion of the campaign with the DIII Indoor Championship taking place at The TRACK at New Balance.
After a break, the Hawks will return to competition on Saturday, Mar. 22 at 10:00 am when the travel down to Connecticut for the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic at Wesleyan. The Hawks will then take on the challenge of the Corsair Claissic on Saturday, Mar. 29 before facing off in the first ever Ocean State Cup at Bryant.
Following the Seaon Collier Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 19, the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship will take place at Gordon on Friday, Apr. 25 and Saturday, Apr. 26. The Hawks will look to send runners to the New England DIII Championships at Coast Guard, before sending potential NCAA Qualifiers to the Williams FIRE.
The NCAA Championships are scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 22 through Sunday, May 25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
