PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Track & Field Team reset three school marks at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, while picking up a total of six total personal bests.
In the 60m,
Amanda Walsh was the top finisher for the Hawks, crossing the line in 8.64, followed by
Peyton Sullivan and
Mya D'Antonio. A school record fell in the 300m, with
Karsyn Medeiros setting the mark with a time of 45.78. Walsh also set a personal best in the event, finishing in 50.14.
The 500m school record was set by
Tab DiDonato who finished with a time of 1:24.61, and was followed by
Grace Baldwin and
Addie Cook who finished seventh and eighth in the event respectively, crossing the finish lin in 1:28.44 and 1:29.11.
The mile was paced for Roger Williams by
Natalie Forno, setting a career best 5:48.63 in the event.
Alexandra Biryukov jumped a height of 1.46m in the high jump, with
Victoria Bettencourt leaping a disctance of 4.51m in the long jump.
Ashley Beck and
Peyton Sullivan both set their best jumps of the season with distances of 4.40m and 4.30m on the day.
Hailey Garcia in her second week of competition broke the school record in the shot put in as many weeks, throwing a distance of 12.20m. In the triple jump Bettencout leaped for 9.39m.
Roger Williams will see members of the squad compete at New England Indoor Championships next weekend, before turning their attention to the outdoor campaign.
