BEVERLY, Mass. – The Conference of New England (CNE) has announced their All-Conference awards for the sport of women's basketball on Wednesday, naming
Sophia Coppola and
Elizabeth Dufrane as All-Conference players.
Coppola sits on the First Team for the first time in her collegiate career, after finishing the regular season averaging 15.2 points per game, with 5.6 rebounds a contest. Coppola scored a season high 24 points on Nov. 26 against UMass Dartmouth, shooting 39.5 percent from the floor, with 16 three pointers. Coppola also had 17 blocks with 16 steals during the season, while dishing out 73 assists.
Landing on the Second Team, Dufrane averaged 12.3 points per game, scoring 307 total on the season. Dufrane's 60 steals and 25 blocks helped pace a Hawk defense, that ranked in the top four in the CNE. Dufrane also averaged 3.8 rebounds per contest, with 95 assists on the season.
Also being recognized by the CNE is senior
Caroline Aaron who was named to the league's Community Service Team for her work with the RWU Best Buddies program.
Roger Williams (18-8, 14-4 CNE) is set to take on Endicott in the CNE Semifinals on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 pm in MacDonald Gymnasium.
