ASHAWAY, R.I. - The Roger Williams Equestrian team sent two riders to the Zone 1 Region 1 Regional's competition, earning 5th place overall as a team.

Alexandra Macdonald (Norwood, Mass.) and Mila Weilbaecher (Maryville, Tenn.) both qualified for the Regional show earlier in the season. Both riders competed in the Limit Divison in both the over fences and flat classes within the division. Macdonald earned a fourth place finish in the Limit fences class with Weilbaecher placing just behind her in fifth.

In the Limit flat class, the pair placed higher with Macdonald earning a third place finish, putting her just shy of the Zones qualifications. However, Weilbaecher rode to a second place finish, qualifying her to advance on to the IHSA Zone competition in April.

The Roger Williams Equestrian team will now look forward to Sunday, April 6th where Weilbaecher will travel to Gales Ferry, Conn. to compete in the IHSA Zones competition hosted at the Mystic Valley Hunt Club.
