BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University men's tennis team turned in another dominant performance on Thursday, sweeping Curry College 7-0 in a Conference of New England matchup.
The Hawks set the tone in doubles play, claiming the point with convincing wins at the top two spots. Ryan Carroll and Jackson Slattery cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Curry's Eric Flynn and Jake Perrotte at No. 1 doubles, while Edward White and James Birbara secured a 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot. The third doubles match went to RWU by forfeit.
In singles action, Roger Williams maintained full control, winning all six matches in straight sets. Bronson DeSisto rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Cooper Brown and Ben Palmer would go 6-0, 6-0 as well at the No. 3 and No. 5 positions, respectively. Konnor Collins clinched a 6-0, 6-1 result at No. 2 singles, and Isaac Swain took down Nicholas Cirelli 6-1, 6-0 on court four. The final singles point at No. 6 was awarded to RWU via forfeit.
With the sweep, Roger Williams improves to 17-1 overall and remains perfect in conference play at 8-0. The Hawks will look to extend their winning streak this Saturday at home where they will face Wentworth in another Conference of New England battle.
