BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday afternoon at Bayside Field, defeating UMass Dartmouth 5-0 behind a balanced offensive effort and airtight defense.

The Hawks wasted no time setting the tone. In the 5th minute, Beth Yucius (Duxbury, Mass.) found the back of the net off a crisp setup from Camryn Dickinson (Quaker Hill, Conn.) to give RWU the early lead. Less than 20 minutes later, Mya D'Antonio (Marshfield, Mass.) doubled the advantage, finishing another Dickinson assist in the 23rd minute to put the Hawks firmly in control at halftime, 2-0.

Roger Williams broke the game open in the second half. Julia Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) slotted one home in the 61st minute, with Yucius and D'Antonio credited with the assists. Sarah Fogarty (Scituate, Mass.) then took over the scoring sheet, burying a penalty kick in the 72nd minute before adding her second goal from open play just three minutes later to cap the 5-0 victory.

RWU controlled every phase of the match, outshooting the Corsairs 20-4 and generating 12 shots on target compared to none for UMass Dartmouth. D'Antonio led all players with six shots, while Yucius added four and Fogarty chipped in two. Dickinson paced the Hawks in distribution with two assists, while Newman and Yucius each added one.

Defensively, the Hawks recorded a flawless clean sheet, their third of the season, holding UMass Dartmouth without a shot on goal. The Corsairs' goalkeepers combined for seven saves, while the visitors' lone caution came in the 85th minute when Natalie Frazier was shown a yellow card.

Roger Williams (3-0-1, 1-0-0 CNE) returns to action on Sept. 13 at 1:00 PM when they travel to face Emerson. UMass Dartmouth (2-2-1) will prepare to face Southern Maine on Saturday, Sept. 13 for their Little East Conference opener.
