BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Roger Williams University Men's Golf team finished the first round of the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday at the Brunswick Golf Club in seventh, finishing the round with a 307 (+19).
Amherst leads with a 294 (+6), followed by Bowdoin 298 (+10), Williams and Tufts are tied for third with 299 (+11).
Ryan Dacey (East Greenwich, R.I.) leads the way for the Hawks, sitting 18th with a three-over-par 75 with three birdies on the scorecard. Sammy Johnson (West Springfield, Mass.) and Will Lafrance (Westport, Mass.) are tied for 29th, with both shooting a 77 (+5). Johnson had three birdies on the card, with two double bogeys, while Lafrance recorded two birdies on the day.
Josh Peterson (Goffstown, N.H.) had a 78 (+6) on the card with three birdies, while hitting a double bogey on the fifth hole. Dante Hardt (Orange, Conn.) carded an 84 (+12).
Roger Williams is set to retake the course on Sunday in Brunswick.
