BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Golf teams are set to launch their 2025–26 campaign, eager to defend their Conference of New England (CNE) title and elevate their presence on the NCAA Division III stage. The Men's season looks to build on a season that culminated with their second straight CNE championship and a solid showing at nationals, while the Women's squad is set to make their debut for their inaugural season.
The fall slate begins September 8–9 at the 6th Annual Warrior Invitational, held at Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Conn., hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University. This opening event sets the tone for the season as the squad looks to sharpen its competitive edge right out of the gate. Just a few weeks later, on September 27, the Hawks make their way north to participate in the Bowdoin College Invitational at Brunswick Golf Club in Maine.
In early October, RWU turns its attention to defending their crown. On October 4–5, the team competes in the high-stakes Conference of New England Championship at Trumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn. Soon after, the Hawks will travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., for the Skidmore Fall Invitational at Saratoga Spa State Park, October 11–12, fine-tuning performance under varied conditions. The fall lineup concludes on October 18–19 with the NEIGA Tournament at Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass., offering a strong regional challenge to close out the season's stretch.
The Hawks return a deep and experienced core from last season, bringing back five starters and four reserves from their championship roster. Depth that gives Roger Williams both stability at the top of the lineup and valuable flexibility throughout the season, with the incoming first-year students.
Core returners like Ryan Dacey, Sammy Johnson, and Will Lafrance are poised to anchor the team with their NCAA familiarity, while sophomores Dante Hardt and Josh Peterson, both with national championship experience, will push the squad's consistency forward in every pairing. Their leadership both on and off the course will be critical as RWU seeks to defend its title and build momentum into the spring season.
Roger Williams University announced the addition of the first NCAA Varsity Women's Golf in September of 2025, and will see the squad take the course in 2025-26. James Ebzery takes the helm of the Hawks in their inaugural campaign, coaching a roster that leads the conference to its first CNE Championship season. The Hawks will see Mazie Collins, Rileigh Gouveia, McKenna Marcoux, Emily Soter, and Grace Tarro take the course as they open their season on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Hartford Hawks Women's Invitational. The inaugural CNE Women's Golf Championship will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, at Keney Park Golf Course.
