Hall of Fame: Mark Mastin '92 Set for Induction into RWU Athletic Hall of Fame

BRISTOL, R.I. – Former Roger Williams University Men's Volleyball standout Mark Mastin '92 will be inducted into the RWU Athletics Hall of Fame as part of its 10th class on Friday, Oct. 16, during Homecoming and Family Weekend.

A three-year team captain and three-time team Most Valuable Player honoree, Mastin established himself as a consistent presence for the Hawks throughout his four-year career. He earned All-Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Division III recognition during both his junior and senior seasons and never missed a game during his collegiate career.

Mastin made an immediate impact, earning team Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman and securing an all-tournament selection at Roger Williams in 1989. He followed that season with team MVP recognition as a sophomore before sharing the honor during each of his final two seasons.

His play at the net and service line placed him among the nation's statistical leaders. In 1991, Mastin ranked 15th nationally in blocking, recording 131 total blocks on 53 solo blocks and 78 block assists. He averaged 1.56 blocks per game while adding 40 service aces.

Mastin also earned multiple all-tournament selections at Roger Williams and recognition at Springfield College. His career culminated with the retirement of his No. 3 jersey in 1992, honoring his contributions to the men's volleyball program.

Beyond his playing accomplishments, Mastin served as an assistant coach with the Roger Williams women's volleyball team and earned Dean's List recognition as a student.

Mastin joins J. Michael Lynch '01 of men's basketball, Jenny (Dill) Okubo '07 of women's swimming and diving, Matt Duggan '09 of sailing, and the 2014 women's soccer team in the 2026 induction class. The Hall of Fame celebration will take place at the Mario J. Gabelli School of Business, beginning with a reception at 5:30 p.m.
