BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Baseball team will get its season underway on Friday, Mar. 6, at 2:00 pm when they take on Grove City in Davenport, Fla., beginning its slate with nine games in Florida.
Entering his sixth season leading the Hawks, Head Coach Kevin Kelley comes into the season after the Hawks posted a 16-23 record, going 6-10 in the CNE during the 2025 campaign, securing the No. 6 seed in the CNE Tournament. The Hawks battled to the CNE Semifinals, where they fell to No. 2 Nichols.
The Hawks will return junior Jonathan Quinn, who posted a 2.76 ERA in 11 appearances last season, throwing for three complete games, with 59 strikeouts for the Hawks.
Quinn will also see Ryan Camp return after earning First Team All-CNE honors. The Hawks will look to the youth movement in 2026, seeing a roster loaded with six transfers and 11 first-years.
The Hawks brought in 17 newcomers, after graduating 13 members of last years squad, including key contributors in Ty Cali, Owen Hibbard, Nick Sheehan, Ethan Keeney, and Sam Weigel.
The Hawks will bring in two new additions for the coaching staff with Rusty Whittmore and Matt McGuire being added to the roster, while joining returning assistants Will Dawson and Andy Goodridge.
Roger Williams will play their first home contest on Thursday, Mar. 19 at 3:00 pm weather depending and then travel to their first CNE tilt on Tuesday, Mar. 24 at Johnson & Wales. The Hawks' season will wind down on Saturday, May 2 at 3:30 pm before the CNE Tournament begins on Wednesday, May 6, through Saturday, May 9.
