BOSTON, Mass. — The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team delivered a commanding performance, sweeping Wentworth 7–0 in conference action.
The Hawks set the tone early by taking all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. The No. 1 pair of
Bronson DeSisto (Las Vegas, Nev.) and
Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) earned a 6–3 victory, while
Camden Poitras (Londonderry, N.H.) and
Steven Mathew (Bayport, N.Y.) followed with a 6–4 win at No. 2 doubles. At the No. 3 position,
Iker Rodriguez Alcocer (Nuacalpan de Juarez, Mexico) and
Om Seth (Lincoln, R.I.) completed the sweep with a 6–1 result.
Roger Williams carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets to complete the shutout. DeSisto led the way at No. 1 singles, while Carroll added a strong performance at No. 2. Rodriguez and Poitras secured wins in the middle of the lineup, and Seth and
Nathan Belmore (Lakeville, Mass.) closed out the match at No. 5 and No. 6.
The Hawks controlled play from start to finish, not dropping a single match across doubles or singles in the dominant 7–0 victory.
With the win, Roger Williams continues to build momentum as they head into their next match vs University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) at home on March 28, at 12:00 PM.
